Antique & Classic Boat Society

Pacific Northwest Chapter

Join our Pacific Northwest Chapter

Founded in 1980

Our member’s viewpoint, skills, experience and dedication make our ACBS chapter one of the best.

Members include novices to the hobby to engine tinkerers to professional boat restorers but all share an interest in enjoying, preserving and sharing our classic boats, mahogany runabouts and brightly-coloured ‘fiberglassics'. We’re always looking for enthusiasts to join us.

Our boats come in all shapes, sizes and conditions from ‘grey’ boats, found forgotten in garages or fields, to those completely restored and ready to get out on the water. Some boat-less members are still looking.

Members enjoy boat rides and shows, workshops, social outings, our monthly newsletter “The Wet Edge” and a vast network of knowledge and skills to draw from. In addition to joining Pacific Northwest (PNW) chapter, membership with Antique and Classic Boat Society (ACBS) also has benefits such as the Rudder magazine, access to an online library of instructional videos, discounts on marine insurance, and access to a continent-wide group of enthusiasts.

But we don’t just sit back and admire what we've done, we plan events year-round – monthly meetings, boat shows and social events to get out on the water.

Meetings are held the second Wednesday of the month. See Events for details and locations. Your first meeting includes free pizza and beverage!

We start the year with a booth at the Seattle Boat Show. Next we parade our boats in Seattle’s 100-year spring tradition, Opening Day. Our members enhance the festivities by giving runabout rides to the public. We organize a non-judged boat show at Gene Coulon Park. At this event we give about 500 boat rides each year!

In October, we partner with the Hydroplane and Raceboat Museum for Mahogany and Merlot, a non-judged boat show at Lake Chelan in eastern Washington. A pre-event is running our boats 55 miles up the lake to Stehekin National Park, enjoying their comfortable facilities, lodging, and hiking. We also arrange various Meet-ups, at Lake Tapps, Mason Lake, Lake Union and Lake Washington. We wrap up the year with our annual dinner in the fall.  Great food, fellowship, and awards are presented.
